Registered Nursing Home Association

Formed in 1968, the Registered Nursing Homes Association (RNHA) campaigns for higher standards in nursing care. Members are nursing home owners committed to delivering quality services to their patients.

The RNHA has four main aims:

To influence government and policy makers aware of key factors which help and hinder nursing homes meet needs of their patients.

Provide information for professionals and the public. The RNHA provides valuable information about the nursing home sector for both members and the public. It also produces a wide range of briefings, booklets and manuals on different aspects of nursing home management as well as a magazine published 6 times a year.

Education, Teaching and research: Nursing homes care for highly dependent, vulnerable people. Many with multiple needs requiring high level of professional expertise and understanding. The RNHA is committed to ensuring that all staff working in nursing homes enjoy opportunities for improving and updating skills, organising education and training days. While also promoting and supporting research into effectiveness of different approaches to caring for older people and those with disabilities.

Advice and expertise: Nursing homes members are able to obtain advice and guidance relevant to the smooth and effective running of services to help ensure quality care is given to all patients.
