Staff Training
Staff
training is at the heart of The Czajka Care Group’s
success. By providing comprehensive training, taking into
account the specialist needs of our current and prospective
residents we can ensure that our staff can provide quality
care to all our residents but can develop their skills and
progress in the caring profession.
Induction...
All staff are required to take part in our mandatory twelve
week induction programme and are also assigned an experienced
training officer to mentor them and provide support.
Amongst other things our inductees are taught in induction:
The
principles of care:
independence, individuality, the importance of choice, privacy,
dignity, respect and confidentiality as well as how this can
be applied in the care environment.
Health
and safety in the work place:
infection prevention and control, moving and handling residents,
emergency first aid, fire safety, medication and health care
procedures.
Recognising
and responding to abuse and neglect: legislation,
policies and procedures, understanding and recognising the
signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect, understanding how
to respond to neglect and whistle blowing policy.
Understanding
the organisation and role of the worker:
GSCC Code of practice and standards expected of a social care
worker, working relationships.
Effective
Communication:
principles of good record keeping, recognising barriers to
communications and understanding behaviour as communication.
Developing
as a worker:
how and where to get advice, understanding purpose and use
of supervision, understanding need to gain skills and knowledge
and working with line manager to agree personal development
plan.
Qualifications...
We
help our staff gain the practical experience of working in
care while studying to receive their NVQ levels 2, 3. Registered
Managers and Deputies in residential care are required to
take NVQ Level 4 in care if they are not nurses. Registered
Managers must also partake in “Leadership and Management”
(LMC) courses.
Because of our
ongoing relationship with the University of Bradford we can
provide assistance in receiving sponsorships for anyone wishing
to enrole in a BSc qualification in Nursing.
Specialist...
At
The Czajka Care Group we offer a number of different care
specialities whether through palliative, convalescent care,
care for young adults with physical disabilities, dementia
care.
If
you wish to specialise in one particular aspect of care we
can help provide not only the training to provide the best
possible care-we can also offer you the experience and knowledge
of gaining experience and learning as you are working.
We
have a working relationship with the Alzheimer’s Society
and Age Concern amongst many other organisations, to help
provide our residents with specialist care. Whilst many of
the courses are free of charge, as part of The Czajka Care
Group’s commitment to providing the best possible care
we will very often provide full or part financial assistance
on any courses designed to provide more specialist care.

Those
that can-not only do but also teach
The
Czajka Care Group has been at the forefront of the caring
profession in West Yorkshire for over 25 years. This commitment
to excellence has not gone unnoticed; as well as all our homes
regularly receiving the CQC Excellence rating we have also
lent our dedication and experience to the nursing profession
as a whole. We have been working with student nurses at the
University of Bradford, offering our facilities to promote
best practice in order to improve nursing care across the
whole sector.
