Fairmount Nursing Home - Nab Wood
Situated in Nab Wood, Shipley.
We opened Fairmount Nursing Home in 1989 and extended and refurbished the home as part of the wider Fairmount Park development in 1991. Our home is registered to provide 24 hour nursing care and is fully equipped with all the latest medical equipment and adaptations.
Forming part of Fairmount Park, which is a retirement development of 37 houses and apartments for the over 55s, residents can enjoy the superb, accessible landscaped gardens throughout the year.
In addition they have full use of The Clubhouse at Fairmont Park, which offers a restaurant and bar, swimming pool, jacuzzi, fully equipped gym, steam room and snooker table. There are also regular bowls matches held on our crown bowling green.
Each room is tastefully designed using a range of stylish and co-ordinated furnishings. All rooms have a nurse call system, television and telephone point. When people move to Fairmount Nursing Home we encourage them to bring their own personal belongings to create a real home from home.
There are also two lovely lounges and a dining room overlooking the bowling green. Upstairs is a balcony where people can relax while looking out over the gardens and a communal computer is available for residents to use with WiFi internet access.
We always make mealtimes special, because it’s such an important, social and enjoyable part of our resident’s daily routines. We cater for the requirements of vegetarians, vegans, diabetics and those with religious diets, and regularly ask residents about their favourite meals so we can accommodate them within our menus. Residents who prefer to dine alone can choose to have their meals brought to them in their own room.
With the Gold Standard Framework accreditation in recognition of our continued high standards, we are also accredited as an Investors in People organisation, demonstrating our commitment to developing staff and have an impressive infection control rating.
Testimonial
Dear Sue,
Sorry I didn't manage to get to speak to you at the funeral, so I just wanted to drop you a quick line to thank you for attending and for the flowers.
Could you please pass on my thanks to the staff at Fairmount for their care and assistance in looking after Joan in her last few months.
Unfortunately, you didn't see her at her best and I'm sure she was quite a difficult "patient" to care for, but I guess you're used to that.
I hope you have a great Christmas and all the best for 2014.
Kind regards
NB
