Czajka Care Group storms ahead with football sponsorship
We are celebrating the success of our ongoing partnership with Thackley Football Juniors Club and are proudly sponsoring the club’s Under-14 Thackley Storm team’s away kit this season.
The initial partnership with the club began in 2023, with the sponsorship of Thackley Lightning Under-12s team.
Thackley Storm competes in Craven & Wharfedale’s League E, training every Thursday under the guidance of coaches Ian Walker and Muz Mohammed, and they play matches on Sundays. Ian said: “The team has had a flying start to the season, winning every match so far. We beat Ilkley 4-2 on the opening day of the season, followed by a 3-1 victory over Oakworth the following week, and then triumphed 10-4 against Undercliffe at the end of September.
“The lads are all dedicated, and their teamwork and enthusiasm is really paying off. It’s a joy to watch them develop and their strong start to the season has already made an impression in the league. We are confident that the young players will continue to grow both on and off the pitch and are grateful for Czajka Care Group’s ongoing support.”
Amy Bland, from Czajka Care Group, whose son Cooper plays for the team, said, “Supporting Thackley Football Juniors Club is about more than just sponsorship - it’s about investing in our local community and helping young people enjoy sport, develop skills, and build confidence. Seeing Cooper and his teammates thrive on the pitch is incredibly rewarding for all of us at Czajka.”
Czajka Care Group is a family-run business that was established in Saltaire in 1983. It owns and operates three care and nursing homes, providing person-centred care for over 250 residents. The group also offers luxury retirement housing at Currergate Mews and Fairmount Park, as well as operating The Clubhouse at Fairmount Park.

Residents and staff at Brookfield Care Home were treated to a heartwarming visit from Richard and his lovely dog, Honey. Richard filled the home with music and cheer as he sang some of our residents’ favourite songs, while Honey captured everyone’s hearts with her adorable tricks. The afternoon was filled with laughter, cuddles, and even a few happy tears as everyone enjoyed the uplifting atmosphere. A big thank you to Richard and Honey for bringing so much joy and warmth to our home!
Another wish fulfilled at Staveley Birkleas Nursing Home
What a truly unforgettable day for our wonderful resident, Michelangelo, as his lifelong dream came true — watching his beloved hometown team, Napoli, play against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Thanks to the dedication and effort of our amazing team at Staveley Birkleas, we were able to make this special wish a reality. The joy and pride on Michelangelo’s face said it all. It was more than just a football match — it was a day filled with happiness, memories, and heartfelt moments. Residents and our team at Currergate Nursing Home were delighted to welcome a pair of friendly alpacas! The gentle visitors quickly became the stars of the day, bringing smiles, laughter, and plenty of cuddles to everyone they met. Calm and curious, the alpacas loved all the attention — and even posed for a few cheeky selfies! These heartwarming moments truly brighten our days and create memories to treasure. Our residents from Staveley Birkleas Nursing Home had a fantastic time celebrating at Bradford Pride! The day was filled with music, colour, and laughter, and it was wonderful to see so many smiles as everyone joined in the celebrations. A huge congratulations to the team from Currergate Nursing Home for completing a two-peak sponsored walk in aid of the residents’ fund. Their incredible efforts have raised spirits and strengthened community bonds, with plans already in place for a three-peak challenge next year once everyone has recovered!
