Brookfield Care Home proves popular following £850,000 investment
A month since opening the doors to a major new extension at the popular Brookfield Care Home in Nab Wood near Saltaire, the home is already welcoming residents into the stunning new rooms.
The extension has seen eight new en-suite rooms built, alongside the refurbishment of the rest of the home. Offering full-time care, respite care, palliative care, day care and short breaks at the purpose-built home, Brookfield Care Home, which is family owned and run by Czajka Care Group, has been rated as ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Julie-ann Fitton, manager at Brookfield Care Home, said: “We knew that the new rooms would be popular, and it’s been lovely to welcome new faces into our home. We pride ourselves on creating a home from home for our residents, but with all the medical support they need to safely enjoy their day to day lives. With a host of regular activities and trips out, there is always something for our residents to take part in if they wish and we are lucky to have a wonderful chef that creates a wide variety or tasty, homemade meals.”
Managing director of Czajka Care Group, Konrad Czajka, added: “The team at Brookfield are kind, caring and professional and they deliver a quality service to our residents in really smart surroundings. It’s been a delight to expand our offering to more residents, with eight state of the art new en-suite rooms.”
Brookfield Care Home is part of the wider Fairmount Park development, which is also owned and run by Czajka Care Group. Fairmount Park includes a collection of 45 retirement homes and The Clubhouse, which is a first-class leisure facility, all within immaculate grounds on Nab Wood Drive in Shipley.
Czajka Care Group is also currently building eight new retirement homes for people over 55 at Fairmount Park, which has a long waiting list, with some people reserving a property years in advance of their planned move date.
Fairmount Park has a crown green bowling and putting green, and many residents from the care home and retirement homes are members of The Clubhouse, where they enjoy facilities including a swimming pool, gym, bowling green, snooker table and much more.
Czajka Care Group also owns Staveley Birkleas Nursing Home in Nab Wood near Shipley and Currergate Nursing Home in Steeton, between Skipton and Keighley.

Forty years together
Irene Jest has played a huge part in Czajka Care Croup’s story over the last 40 years. The 76-year-old was one of the original ‘gang’ employed by Konrad Czajka when he first started out in the care industry, and she has contributed so much to the family-run care company over her many years of dedicated service. Irene retired in 2023 and now lives in Idle, but she still makes regular visits to the homes and The Clubhouse at Fairmount Park.
