Czajka cares about your career

We are recruiting, as more residents are choosing to move into our five popular care homes and nursing homes in Nab Wood near Shipley, Steeton and Cross Hills – between Skipton and Keighley.

We are currently recruiting for positions including full and part time care assistants, as well as registered nurses for day and night duties. Our family-run care group is also looking for chefs for its talented catering team.

Managing director, Konrad Czajka, said: “We are lucky to have a wonderful team who are very loyal and professional. Many of them have worked with us for years, and we always celebrate their achievements and provide bonuses for those at milestone anniversaries.

“We embrace flexible working where possible and offer shifts from 7am to 2.30pm, 2pm to 9pm and 9pm to 7am for care and nursing teams. Other staff in administrative, catering and support roles can job share, as well as earn extra money with overtime.

“We provide a fabulous training and professional development programme through our on-site training facility alongside specialist mental health training. We also give all our team a discounted membership for The Clubhouse at Fairmount Park, which has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, gym, restaurant, bar, snooker table, putting green, bowling green, croquet lawn, boardroom facilities and private function suite.

“Anyone who already works for us can refer a friend and receive a bonus for each introduction and we also pay time and a half for anyone who wants to work more than their contracted hours. Registered nurses, senior careers and ancillary staff are all on competitive salaries.

“We believe that by investing in our team’s wellbeing, we are in a really strong position when it comes to attracting the best people and we would encourage anyone already working in care, the NHS or people who might be thinking about a career change, to come and chat to us.”

Czajka Care Group runs Fairmount Nursing Home, Brookfield Care Home and its specialist nursing home for people with physical disabilities, Staveley Birkleas, which are all in Nab Wood near Shipley, as well as Currergate Nursing Home in Steeton and Beanlands Nursing Home in Cross Hills. Czajka Care Group also provides purpose-built retirement homes and operates The Clubhouse at Fairmount Park, which is a members only club with a wide range of leisure facilities.

Diligent design at the heart of all Czajka Care Group’s homes

Over the last 41 years Czajka Care Group has grown and developed to become West Yorkshire’s leading care provider, as well as a renowned provider of quality retirement homes in Nab Wood and Steeton. During that time, one man who has played a big part in the design of all Czajka Care Group’s properties is architect, Philip Mawson.

Forty years together

Irene Jest has played a huge part in Czajka Care Croup’s story over the last 40 years. The 76-year-old was one of the original ‘gang’ employed by Konrad Czajka when he first started out in the care industry, and she has contributed so much to the family-run care company over her many years of dedicated service. Irene retired in 2023 and now lives in Idle, but she still makes regular visits to the homes and The Clubhouse at Fairmount Park.
